Aponia Laboratories, Inc. was founded by Robert Boolbol, M.D. and Kenneth Corroon in 2010 to develop and introduce a safe and effective pain relief product based on ibuprofen to the U.S. marketplace. The company is a specialized pharmaceutical company that is developing topical Rx (prescription) and over-the-counter (OTC) pain relief products in the $4.6 billion non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) segment of the $24.2 billion arthritis pain market, with a world-class team that has a proven track record of successful New Drug Applications (NDAs) approvals from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Successfully developed an international intellectual property strategy, including worldwide patent applications and a unique molecular bifurcation of the active ingredient, which has lead to a more efficient and safer product.

Mr. Corroon has founded/co-founded and lead three healthcare companies, worked in healthcare related investment banking at Morgan Stanley & UBS Investment Bank and played professional basketball for Olympiakos B.C. in Athens, Greece. He has earned master’s degrees from Harvard University, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the London School of Economics & Political Sciences and more recently completed a master’s degree from the University of Oxford, Merton College. Mr. Corroon completed a bachelor of science at Oklahoma State University where he was a varsity basketball player for the Cowboys.
Robert J. Boolbol, MD

Pain and Spine Specialists of Connecticut’s Partner, Robert J. Boolbol, MD. is double Board Certified in interventional Pain Management and Anesthesiology. Dr. Boolbol has over twenty years of experience in the field of Chronic Pain Management. He received his Medical Degree from New York Medical College, trained at Columbia College Of Physicians and Surgeons, as well as, the University of Chicago, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
